Connie PeacockAWARE Coordinator
Connie Peacock is now our AWARE Coordinator but previously volunteered at Life Options for 11 years as a client consultant and more recently as an assistant to the AWARE program. She has been married to Rich Peacock for 26 years and has two amazing teenagers whom she home schooled for the first half of their schooling. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Roberts Wesleyan University in New York State. In her free time, Connie enjoys playing guitar on her church’s worship team, hiking, camping, and gardening.
Jan McDonaldExecutive Director
Jan McDonald has been the CEO of Life Options for 11 years, but started her career here as a volunteer AWARE presenter in 2001. Communicating with youth is one of Jan’s favorite things in life! The all-time best thing is having her best friend as her husband, Dennis, for 28 years! Together, they have 3 kids & 2 grandchildren. She also enjoys making an impact as a certified John Maxwell coach, speaker and leadership trainer. Her “chill” time is spent gardening, reading and working out. Family time is very important to her. She also gets big smiles from being with her dog, Truffle.
Tim Bardell has been an AWARE presenter to 5th and 6th grade boys for over 10 years. He is passionate about passing on strong, life enriching values to the next generation. Tim and his wife Ann have been married since 1983 and have 4 grown children,+ 3 added through marriage, 5 granddaughters and 1 grandson! Tim is the owner of B7 Engineering, where he serves our area with civil, mechanical and structural engineering. He also leads Boy Scout Troop 643- with whom he puts in miles of hiking and many days of camping!
Andrea DonaldsonExecutive Coordinator
Andrea Donaldson is the Life Options Executive Coordinator, serving as assistant to the CEO & overseeing marketing for AWARE & Life Options. She previously volunteered as a client consultant for 3 years and was the AWARE coordinator in 2016. She continues to do AWARE presentations. She is a homeschool graduate. In her free time, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family & 13 siblings, cooking, crocheting, graphic design, photography, running 2 home businesses, and serving her community.
Melanie SmeenkCenters Director
Melanie Smeenk is the Centers Director at Life Options where she has worked for the past seven years. She is the Girls 180 facilitator for Harrison and Sierra Vista Middle Schools in Sunnyside and also does AWARE presentations. She has lived in Sunnyside her whole life and graduated from Sunnyside Christian High School in 2000. She has been married to Scott Smeenk for 15 years and they have two sons. She helps with the office work at their dairy which they began in 2002. Melanie enjoys attending sporting events with her two boys, camping, watching movies and visiting with family.
Nathan Gill serves as Youth Pastor at Neighborhood Church in Sunnyside, WA. He was born and raised in Sunnyside, where he attended and graduated from Sunnyside Christian High school. He attended Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Bible and Theology, with a Youth Ministry Major. He has served the local church for 16 years in various roles and positions. He is the Guys 180 facilitator at Grandview Middle School, and one of the facilitators at Harrison in Sunnyside. In his free time, Nathan enjoys coffee, shopping, traveling, boating, camping and fishing.
Nancy Myers has taught in the Zillah School District for the last 17 years. Prior to that she was blessed to be home raising their 5 children while her husband taught. Over the years she has been involved with helping with Good News Clubs, being the Cub Master for Cub Scouts for 6 years, coaching soccer and baseball for the youth sports teams for many years, helping with ZHS drama and teaching piano & guitar lessons. She is the Girls 180 facilitator at Zillah Middle School. Terry and Nancy will be celebrating their 38th anniversary in August 2017.
Michael Donaldson is the Guys 180 Club facilitator at Zillah Middle School. He has worked as a nutrition scientist for the Hallelujah Diet since 1998. After graduating from Zillah High School he attended WSU and graduated with a chemical engineering degree, and then went to Cornell University where he earned a PhD in chemical engineering. Michael has been married for almost 25 years to his wife Angela, and they are busy raising their 14 children in Zillah. Michael also serves as an elder at Household of Faith Church in Grandview. His interests include farming, bicycling and other sports, and fixing stuff.
Dave Leenstra has been the Associate/Youth Pastor at Mabton Grace Brethren Church since June of 2015. He graduated from Cairn University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Bible. When not involved in leading the youth program at Mabton GBC, he enjoys spending time outside on the trail. He is one of the Guys 180 facilitators at Harrison in Sunnyside. His favorite thing about living in the Yakima Valley is the abundance of taco trucks.
