Connie PeacockAWARE Coordinator
Connie Peacock has been the AWARE Coordinator since 2017, and she also previously volunteered at Life Options for 11 years as a client consultant and as an assistant to the AWARE program. She has been married to Rich Peacock for 26 years and has two amazing teenagers whom she home schooled for the first half of their schooling. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Roberts Wesleyan University in New York State. In her free time, Connie enjoys playing guitar on her church’s worship team, hiking, camping, and gardening.
Andrea DonaldsonExecutive Coordinator
Andrea Donaldson is the Life Options Executive Coordinator, serving as assistant to the CEO & overseeing marketing & development for AWARE and Life Options. She previously volunteered as a client consultant for 3 years and was the AWARE coordinator in 2016. She continues to do AWARE presentations. She is a homeschool graduate. In her free time, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family & 13 siblings, cooking, crocheting, graphic design, photography, running 2 home businesses, and serving her community.
Melanie SmeenkLife Options' CEO
Melanie Smeenk is the CEO of Life Options, where she has worked in various capacities since 2010. As CEO, she is involved in overseeing the AWARE program, and also does AWARE presentations. She has lived in Sunnyside her whole life and graduated from Sunnyside Christian High School in 2000. She has been married to Scott Smeenk for over 15 years and they have two sons. She helps with the office work at their dairy which they began in 2002. Melanie enjoys attending sporting events with her two boys, camping, watching movies and visiting with family.
Michael DonaldsonAWARE Presenter
Michael Donaldson is an AWARE presenter for 5th & 6th grade boys. He has worked as a nutrition scientist for the Hallelujah Diet since 1998. After graduating from Zillah High School he attended WSU and graduated with a chemical engineering degree, and then went to Cornell University where he earned a PhD in chemical engineering. Michael has been married for over 25 years to his wife Angela, and they are busy raising their 14 children in Zillah. Michael also serves as an elder at Household of Faith Church in Grandview. His interests include farming, bicycling and other sports, and fixing stuff.
Val BeardAWARE Presenter
Though raised in So. California, Val returned to her birthplace, Pullman, WA to acquire a BA degree in political science from WSU. She has traveled and supported husband Tim around the world for over 46 years as he did varied jobs including the USMC, seminary, mission field, and now pastor. She is mother to six children, homeschooling for over 20 years. She enjoys being grandma to 14 grands (so far). Hobbies include reading, scrapbooking and gardening. She sews and cooks when she can’t avoid it. Val has volunteered with Life Options since 2017.
Jonathan SanchezAWARE Presenter
Jonathan Sanchez is an AWARE presenter and also helps with our Guys 180 clubs. Jonathan and his family moved to Grandview in 2010 to do a church plant, and he has served our community for 9 years. He also serves as a leader for the young men in his church and enjoys volunteering in the local schools. During his free time, he enjoys drawing and restoring antique trinkets and furniture.
Nathan Gill is the Guys 180 facilitator at Harrison Middle School in Sunnyside. He serves as Youth Pastor at Neighborhood Church in Sunnyside, WA. He was born and raised in Sunnyside, where he attended and graduated from Sunnyside Christian High school. He attended Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Bible and Theology, with a Youth Ministry Major. He has served the local church for 16 years in various roles and positions. In his free time, Nathan enjoys coffee, shopping, traveling, boating, camping and fishing.
